We are getting a Bass Pro Shop in Cary, NC!!  I am pretty excited we have visited many Bass Pro's around the United States while traveling I wouldn't have thought we would get one this soon locally, but I can't wait to check it out.  It is scheduled to open the end of 2013 or beginning of 2014.  It will be located at I-40 and harrison avenue.

Here is the article about it:

Parents choice brand diapers...

So we normally use Pampers brand for diapers, sometimes Huggies which are both awesome for diapers we just use pampers because its a family favorite.  For our shower we got all different types of diapers Luvs are okay not as good as pampers or Huggies but def. a better choice if you are looking for a cheaper brand of diapers just a little bit rougher as far as material goes.  I just opened my first pack of Parents choice diapers (the Walmart store brand), and I would most certainly NOT recommend these diapers!  My son usually sleeps through the night with one diaper, the night before last I put a Parent's choice diaper on him and he woke up early early morning and was completely wet through his clothes, sheets and all.  Then I changed his diaper and within an hour of putting the new diaper on he pooped and it went completely through the diaper and his new pj outfit....

I am all about using non named brand items as long as they are efficient, but as far as parent's choice diapers go I give them 2 thumbs down....

Getting back to breast milk... or at least trying

So since Parker has been having a lot of trouble on formula and we have had a crazy run around trying to find the most specific types of formula, the current one he is on they don't even sell on store shelves (Enfamil Nutramigen AA), and is $40 for a 14 oz. can of powder might I add!!  We are having to feed him the old stuff right now until the order comes in to Kroger Pharmacy tomorrow and it has been a rough few nights back on the old stuff kicking like crazy, his 8:30 bedtime turned into 11 p.m. the last few nights because his stomach is in knots.  SO....I have recently been trying to start pumping again, yes after FOUR MONTHS of not producing any milk.  My husband thought I was a little crazy, the doctors agreed that breast milk, any little bit I could get, would help Parker's allergies to milk that he has been showing signs of.  So I started pumping after his last doctors visit last Wednesday.  I have talked to many lactation consultants that have said I may not be able to produce anything at this point but they told me to pump every 2 hrs around the clock and take four Fenugreek 3 x's a day.  So for 48 hrs straight I even woke up EVERY 2 hours to pump 15 minutes at a time, it felt like having a newborn again and I got NOTHING for 24 hours.... but the next day I started getting a few drops every time and those few drops have turned into about an ounce every time I pump.  It's still a little discouraging, but..... Parker drank his first FULL bottle of breast milk tonight (7 oz.) so I was a little excited, it is def. possible to produce milk again after 4 months of being dried up, haha!  Not sure if I will be able to build up my supply enough to make it worth it but I am def. trying....

Stripped bass for supper

Our buddy Travis brought us back some fresh striped bass that he caught on the Chesapeake Bay.  So of course we had to have a little bon fire last night and cook the fish...it turned out pretty awesome, if you're looking a good striped bass recipe this one is delicious....

3 lb. stripe bass, (cleaned w head removed)
2 tbsp lemon juice
3 oz. Chablis wine (I used Chardonnay)
3 oz. of seltzer water (I couldn't find any when at grocery store so we just substituted it with sparkling water)
1/2 tsp. celery powder
1/8 tsp black pepper
salt to taste
1 1/2 oz corn oil
1/4 tsp marjoram spice
1/2 tsp garlic powder

Preheat oven 375 degrees.  Use pan big enough to line fish up where its not stacked on top of each other.  Line pan with aluminum foil and make a border around edges so juice doesn't leak out.  Put fish on top of foil.  Then mix all the other ingredients in a bowl (Then I poked holes in the fish with a fork) covered the top of fish with the mix of all ingredients, and flipped the fish over and poked holes with fork and poured remaining ingredients on top.  Cook for 50-55 minutes.

The guys enjoyed and approved of this recipe, we had rice and salad to go with it and made toast with butter and put some garlic powder on the toast and it made for an awesome meal!

5 Months Old!!

Parker is 22 weeks old as of Friday! And a big FIVE MONTHS OLD!  I can hardly believe it... I'm a little behind because it's been a pretty crazy week and a half with both of my boys sick for over a week, one with a stomach virus and they other with a bad cold, and that made for one exhausted mommy!  But everyone is doing great now.... here are a few photographs from last week:
Jan. 3rd... 5 Months Old!

Long live the days of laying down in his car seat....he knows how to sit up now so lunches have a whole new meaning lol.....
This is Parker's new best buddy Chris!

This was Parker celebrating his first New Years, he must have known what night it was because he tried his hardest to stay awake I seriously think he feel asleep at 11:59....poor guy he tried hard to make it to watch the ball drop!

We learned this week that Parker probably has a bad milk allergy soooo I am now trying to start breast feeding again, we started back pumping last week after 4 1/2 months of not doing anything but formula....an interesting journey this shall be....and an exhausting one it has already started to become.

Me and my sick little man!
